Bedbugs get their name because of where they prefer to live and eat It’s all about the bed. It’s where they find and feast upon your blood, they’re only food source. They often remain right on that bed, hiding while they digest their food and eliminate wastes. It’s also where they transition with life, mating and laying eggs. The little ones grow and shed their skin, multiple times.

You just don’t really know that bed bugs are right there in your bed, or very close by it.

They are nocturnal and do their moving around and eating at night. After a good meal, thanks to you, they hide and may not eat again for a week. They don’t all share the same schedule so you could be fed upon multiple times during the week. It takes awhile to discover this because not everyone reacts to their bites.

Those that do have a reaction will itch with perhaps raised, red areas. Pay attention to the location of the irritation. They would be on exposed skin, maybe in a linear pattern. If you find this to be your situation or a family member’s and you haven’t been around mosquitoes lately, investigate.

They cozy up in any type of seam you can find and there are plenty of them. They are a part of all the linens, mattress and box spring. Should there be any tears in that last item, boy does that provide all types of hiding places for them. There are so many boards, bolts and fabric.

Look closely. Do you see any blood or peppered looking stains? See any flakes of skin or tiny eggs? Do you see the real deal? Them? They look like thin apple seeds.
