Bed Bug Treatment Preparation — Simple Steps That Help Us Solve It Fast
You don’t need to do everything perfectly. Start with the basics — we’ll guide you through the rest.

- What stays in place
- What NOT to do

Washing and drying removes active bed bugs and prevents reinfestation during treatment.

Get It Done Right the First Time
Preparation is important—but execution is what stops the infestation.
You Don’t Have To Get This Perfect
Most people feel overwhelmed when they hear “preparation.”
That’s normal.
You are not expected to:
- deep clean your entire home
- throw everything away
- know exactly what to do
👉 Our job is to solve the problem — not judge your home.
We Work With You — Not Against You
Some companies expect perfect preparation before they will even begin.
We don’t.
We understand:
- every home is different
- every situation is different
- not everything can be done perfectly
👉 Our job is to work with what you have and solve the problem.
Store Clean Items in “Tertiary” Areas
- After drying, store clean items in clean spaces away from bedrooms and living rooms (e.g., a bathroom, kitchen, garage, or a low-risk closet).
• • Keep them bagged or in sealed bins until the home is cleared for re-entry.
Remove All Covers & Plastics From Sleep Surfaces
• • Remove certified bed bug encasements, covers, and any plastic wrap from box springs, platforms, and mattresses so we can treat seams and surfaces.
Disassemble Sleep Surfaces for Access
- Remove box springs and mattresses from bed frames and place them where technicians can easily treat them (leaned safely or staged per our instructions).
• • If you have platform beds, loosen slats/boards for treatment access.
Be Ready to Vacate
- Plan for up to 4 hours out of the home (including pets) after treatment begins.
- We’ll advise exact re-entry timing and post-care steps at the visit.
