HOW WOULD I KNOW IF MY CHILD HAS A BED BUG BITE?

Bed bug bites are usually painless initially then they turn red and become very itchy. Some people have no reactions to bed bugs at all. Most people have mosquito looking bites that turn into welts or even ulcers if they scratch. The bites may be irregular or in a straight line. Sometimes Doctors and Dermatologists may not identify the insect bite.

 

WILL MY CHILD GET A DISEASE OR BECOME SICK?

There is no known disease that is transmitted from bed bugs to humans. However many humans will develop stress and anxiety issues from bed bug infestations and some of us will get infections for scratching.

 

DO THE SCHOOLS HAVE A PLAN TO CONTROL BED BUGS?

Every school has or should have an (IPM) Integrated Pest Management Program with licensed Pest Control Company. Pest Control Companies will use everything applicable to solving bed bug issues chemical and non-chemical. The possibility to bring them home from schools are very low.

 

WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF A CHILD BRINGS BED BUGS INTO THE SCHOOL?

Company Policy will not allow them to blame or reject a student. The school will contact the parents and educate them about bed bugs. They will be informed to increase good sanitation practices. The school will start isolation protocols without bringing attention to one child.

 

HOW DO I GET RID OF THE BED BUGS IN MY HOME?
