Bed bugs are small and limited in size and look similar to an apple seed. Bed bugs can be found all over the world. They hide during daylight hours around beds, chairs, couches, recliners, curtains, rugs, dressers, and in crack and crevices in walls, floor moldings, ceiling moldings, door and window frames.
They will come out at night foraging for food (blood meals) in humans. Bedbugs have a special component or element in their saliva that keeps blood from clotting while they feed usually while humans are sleep. Bedbugs will not stay around humans long but will hide near the hosts and they will spread when humans move around the home carrying the bedbugs on their person or clothing to other locations.
Initial bedbug signs will be their bite not sightings. The bites are very itchy and look like mosquito bites but will itch for 3 or 4 days. Bites will be found on the upper body usually on exposed skin like the face, arms, and necks.
